As you await the arrival of your baby you may be filled
with diverse feelings from joyful anticipation to fearful
concerns. Prenatal counseling work assists you to identify
your strengths and resolve concerns regarding the birth of
your baby and your new life. This is beneficial for a first
time pregnancy as a supplement to a childbirth preparation
class. For second or subsequent pregnancies this is a
perfect choice in lieu of taking another childbirth class.
Medical research shows how unresolved fears and anxiety can
disrupt the smooth flow of labor, slowing it down and
making it more painful. Discussing your concerns in the
positive context of prenatal counseling can free you to
move towards birth with increased confidence and
relaxation.

| Session Description |
Session 1: The Birth Counselor Interview
We discuss your history of family relationships, beliefs
and any previous experience and associations to childbirth.
We also discuss specific concerns about this pregnancy.
Session 2: Birth Visualization
With light hypnosis you will receive a guided visualization
tailored to your specific needs addressing your specific
anxieties or concerns.
Session 3: Pain Coping Session with
Partner
We work together to discover what your natural coping style
is for dealing with pain in labor and help your partner
learn what this is in order to assist you in labor.
Session 4: Birth Processing | optional |
We review and integrate the power of the birth experience
and assist in the adjustment in the postpartum period.
Cost:
Sliding scale, each session $55 - $75, pay what is
comfortable to your budget.
