Laurie is a certified childbirth educator with ICEA a leading national childbirth education organization as well as a certified prenatal counselor for childbirth preparation trained in the Peterson Method. She is also a certified doula through DONA International and has been attending births since 2003. Laurie is a CAPPA certified lactation educator and has been teaching prenatal breastfeeding classes and helping mothers and babies breastfeed since 2004.

As a mother of two children ages 9 and 11 she has deep love and understanding for what pregnancy, birthing and caring for children are truly about. Her own joys and struggles with pregnancy, birthing and breastfeeding have deepened her work, and it shows in her compassion.

She enjoys bikram yoga, reading, power walking and the company of friends, family and of course, children.
